Careers in power engineering

We invite you to join the participants in the API's Powerful Women Leadership program for 2023 for discussions on leadership, managing career progression and the thriving in career and leadership roles in the power sector from the perspective of woman in the power sector.

These 1-hour long online sessions will include featured speakers and then small group discussions facilitated by the participants in the Powerful Women Leadership Program.

Invited featured speakers include Jennifer Hughes, General Manager of Operational Planning, Transgrid (August), Jane MacMaster, Chief Engineer, Engineers Australia and Anna Collyer, Chair, Australian Energy Market Commission (October).

Powerful Women Leadership Program 2024 information and scholarships

We will also be providing an update on opportunities to participate in the 2024 cohort of the API's Powerful Women Leadership program, including access to scholarships funded by the Australian Government's Office for Women.

The POWERful Women Leadership Program (PWLP) is a unique power sector-oriented program that will develop the next generation of female leaders for the Australian power sector. The Powerful Women program has two streams each year - the Professional stream for ~25 experienced women in technically oriented roles in the power sector, and the Early Career stream for 50+ undergraduates and graduates.
