A graceful invitation from the storytelling gang around Kangaroo Ground and resident myth carrier Vas Clementine, an hour away from Melbourne CBD, has led the traveling path towards a date with one of the complex story within a story stories for this evening! It is good to have a good place to tell, but it is fantastic to have a group that already knows about working with myth. In the style to which they have become accustomed, we will begin with a Potluck meal and then get into the trouble of the tale!

This evening is a journey into indigenous wisdom through the lens of an old myth told to the people while the rhythm of the African Djembe drum calls to the elements. We humans have been gathering for millennia to hear the guidance of the handed down intelligence of the ancestors as a way of improving our navigation in the present. With this unique style of facilitation, we will travel together to find a valuable treasure trove called "a moment of community" that is the renewable wealth of nature come into the human realm

It looks like Nature is helpless against the onslaughts of modernity, corporate cynicism, and political indifference, save for a bit of greenwashing here and there. But real nature is renewable, and likewise, a culture of repair, restitution, reconciliation and revivification is available as a wellspring of integrity, power and navigation for those who might be able to listen with the old ears tuned to Eldership. Myth holds such Eldership, in a way that is generous for those who seek power not for their own aggrandisement, but to help life to continue jumping up alive in this time of jeopardy.

You are already equiped to join this journey into myth, ritual, grief and praise by virtue of your native humanity. You won't find the "moral of the story" in these evenings and events——there is a hidden doorway into the great wealth of the "store-house" of the story, individual to each listener, yet magnified magnificently through participation in the old ritual of a "two-way-listening" around the hearth with good people.

Bring with you an "intention" for this evening—in this way of working with the story, that means to say "IF I could hear some wisdom from the story about this issue, or challenge, or desire, in my life, I would be willing to hear it." It simply means showing up with an open mind and heart. That is our agreement together for the evening, participating with an open heart and mind. If we can hold back that modern urge to rush and "get-it-all" for just one evening, we can discover the wealth hidden in the tale together. This old way of conversation with the story has been called "story-carrying." If we can offer our honesty to that conversation, we will find that the myth is generous enough to help each person in the room with a "next-best-step."

And you are welcome to join the full day long immersion on Saturday in Healesville, just over an hour from Melbourne CBD.
