PPEP Talk®: Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Sports

How do I optimise training and performance around my periods? How can I manage training around pelvic pain?
All these questions will be answered in this PPEP Talk® Sports by Pelvic Pain Australia, this Student Health Month at UQ.
The Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Program is an evidence-based, gender inclusive and interactive program for you to learn more about what’s normal and not so normal when it comes to period pain and what you can do about it. Delivered by health professionals, this program is the best way to stay informed on how to tame pain and is designed to support athletes, parents and coaches.
Developed by medical and education professionals, for athletes or individuals who enjoy sports, this program:
· Explores period pain, pelvic pain, and endometriosis—designed to support athletes, parents, and coaches.
· Equips students athletes, sports enthusiasts and professionals to support others who have period pain or pelvic pain.
· Destigmatises period pain and corrects historical misinformation about severe period pain and endometriosis.
· Provides education on ways they can manage pelvic pain around training programs, competitions and more.
· Informs about endometriosis and explains the steps to take if their pain is a problem.
The program is inclusive of all ages, genders, cultures, and abilities, and includes tailored resources, plus the chance to speak one-on-one with a medically trained educator about personal experiences with pain.
