PPEP Talk®: Periods, Pain and Endometriosis (St.Lucia)

Event description

Why are my periods painful? Why are they irregular? Is this heavy bleeding?

All these questions will be answered in this in-person PPEP Talk® by Pelvic Pain Australia, this Student Health Week at UQ (St Lucia).

The Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Program is an evidence based, gender inclusive and interactive program for you to learn more about what’s normal and not so normal when it comes to period pain and what you can do about it. Delivered by health professionals, this program is the best way to stay informed on how to tame pain.

Developed by medical and education professionals this program:

·    Educates students about what is normal, and how to pick when their period pain is not normal as well as signs of endometriosis

·    Equips students to support others who have period pain or pelvic pain

·    Destigmatises period pain and corrects historical misinformation about severe period pain and endometriosis

·    Supports and reassures students who are unsure about their period pain

·       Provides education on ways they can manage pelvic pain themselves.

·       Informs about endometriosis and explains the steps to take if their pain is a problem.
