The PR for Academics workshop series aims to assist researchers gain impact by communicating their research messages beyond the academy.
"A picture is worth a thousand words." So said advertising executive Fred R. Barnard back in the 1920s. In this screen-obsessed age, these words have never been more relevant. We consume more visually based information now than ever before – in the academic context, in particular, visual communication can be immediate and highly effective. And when paired with your words in a PowerPoint presentation to support your talks, memorable images can be invaluable. This session will look at graphic design elements and help you put together visual presentation packages that have the 'wow' factor.
