Description

Join us for an evening of education, networking and food!

A 3-course meal and light refreshments will be served during the session.

This event is approved by the RACGP for 2 Hours EA, 3 hours RP and 5 Hours MO.

Session aim:

This educational activity aims to equip general practitioners with practical, evidence‑based knowledge and clinical decision-making skills to recognise and manage common presentations in primary care, with a focus on gastrointestinal conditions, ADHD, and mental health.

The session will enhance GPs’ ability to identify red flags requiring timely referral, differentiate ADHD from other psychiatric disorders, and apply current evidence and guidelines to the safe initiation and management of psychostimulant therapies.

GPs will also benefit from a session to promote recognising common gastrointestinal presentations in primary care and identify red flags requiring further investigation or specialist referral, including areas of bowel cancer.

Learning outcomes:

Recognise common gastrointestinal presentations in primary care and identify red flags requiring further investigation or specialist referral.

Identify key symptoms of ADHD, differentiating from other psychiatric disorders, and describe how it affects daily life and mental health.

Compare and contrast between available options for initiating and managing prescription of psychostimulants for ADHD in line with latest empirical evidence and guidelines for use.

Promote early detection of bowel cancer by supporting patient awareness and engagement with the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program in primary care
