Practice 101: Cultural Intelligence – Grafton
Event description
PRACTICE 101: Cultural Intelligence
Join Arts Northern Rivers for a half-day professional development workshop on Cultural Intelligence, facilitated by Kierrabelle Arts.
Working and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural artists and communities requires cultural humility and empathy, which comes from understanding of social, historical and cultural contexts.
This foundational workshop includes Australian historical impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culture, relationship and connections to Country, cultural protocols, respectful relationships and the ongoing impacts of colonisation and cultural arts.
Designed for artists and arts workers at all career stages, participants will develop tools and insights to strengthen cultural awareness and support ongoing learning in their creative practice.
Morning tea and refreshments provided.
