PRACTICE 101: Working with Galleries
Join Arts Northern Rivers for a professional development workshop on 'Working with Galleries’ facilitated by Sarah Harvey , Lone Goat Gallery and Grace Dewar, Arts Northern Rivers.
Designed for early-career visual artists, this workshop will share an overview of the arts sector and detail how to self-profile and present your work for exhibitions. This foundational workshop has been developed to support Northern Rivers artists interested in exhibiting their work in and outside of the regions.
The session will share resources for upcoming opportunities such as awards and residencies to help artists instigate and build sustainable careers.
Sarah Harvey is an artist, curator and gallerist with 16 years experience working in the arts sector across regional galleries, commercial galleries and art schools. She is currently the Gallerist and Curator at Lone Goat Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in the heart of Byron Bay and a creative initiative of Byron Shire Council.
Grace Dewar is an artist, curator and producer with an extensive arts background across artist-run spaces, galleries, festivals, institutions, peak bodies, local government and self-organised practice. They currently work as Project Manager for Arts Northern Rivers, Artistic Co-Director of softwash—an artist-led program of site-responsive live and experimental art in Tweed Heads and board member and studio artist with Elevator ARI, Lismore.
