Event description

We invite natural resource management practitioners working on Gumbaynggirr Ngambaa lands to join an intercultural, Gumbaynggirr-led learning experience and research project led by Yandaarra.

This unique opportunity includes an online reflexive learning journey to support deeper thinking about your own position on Country, followed by an on-Country cultural workshop led by Gumbaynggirr Ngambaa Custodians. Participants will also be guided on a day trip to The Golden Hole—the largest known midden in the southern hemisphere—where cultural stories and knowledges might be shared.

Participants will also be asked to engage with a pre-interview and post-interview with PhD student and member of Yandaarra, Liz. Once you have booked a session, Liz will contact you to arrange times for the 2 interviews. Her address is elizabeth.murphy-may@uon.edu.au.

Cultural workshop dates: 11 or 12 August (there will be two groups - please choose preferred date) between 10-12.30pm at Yarrahapinni. Pre and post-interviews will be conducted a week prior and after the workshops. More details will come once you are in contact with us regarding the workshops.

Both groups will come together for a Golden Hole visit: 13 August from 10am-12.30pm.

Lunch is provided for all activities. Please contact garyfry@jaliigirr.com.au with any dietary needs.

We will send detailed instructions on location of events a few days before the event.

This is an invitation to walk respectfully, to listen deeply, and to learn in relationship.
