Pray for Portugal

Join us along with our Partners in Prayer as we hear about and pray for the gospel work in Portugal.

We will be joined by Samuel & Emily (serving in Coimbra) who will share about this beautiful country, its need for Jesus and the work God is doing there.

Portugal is a beautiful coastal country in Europe that is rich in history, delicious food, warm locals, and steeped in Catholic history and tradition. Although most people have heard of Jesus, very few people would acknowledge him as their Lord and only Savior since the traditions of Catholicism and growing secularism have undermined his relevance. Only 0.4% of the 10 million people in Portugal are Evangelical Christian, and this percentage has been decreasing.

ECM is active in church planting, especially in Lisbon, in the rural area of Alentejo Province, to the east of Lisbon and in evangelism and discipleship in the student city of Coimbra.

A Little About Samuel & Emily

Samuel (a Portuguese national) and Emily (an Australian) both have a passion to see young people transformed by the gospel through university ministry. They are working with the GBU in Coimbra to pastor, teach and train students from the bible. They are also involved in local church ministry.
