Pre-conference tours are exclusively available to delegates who have purchased a 2026 Palliative Care NSW State Conference ticket.

An access code to purchase a pre-conference tour ticket has been sent to all delegates who have purchased a conference ticket.

OPTION 1 - Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH)

Visit AYAH, Australia’s first dedicated, purpose-built hospice for adolescents and young adults aged 16-30 living with life-limiting illness.

This unique opportunity will give delegates an insight into AYAH’s statewide role, its age-appropriate model of care, and how the service supports young people and their families across NSW.

The visit includes:

• A flexible drop-in touring window: 9am, 10am or 11am

• Morning tea

• Small-group guided tours of the facility

• Dedicated shuttle bus between Manly Wharf and AYAH throughout the visit period

Getting to AYAH:

Delegates are responsible for purchasing their own ferry ticket from Circular Quay to Manly. A return ticket is approximately $16.08. The Manly Fast Ferry is recommended, with services approximately every 20 minutes and a journey time of around 20 minutes.

A Palliative Care NSW staff member will be at Manly Wharf to assist with transport to AYAH.

OPTION 2 - Art Gallery of New South Wales

Join us at the Art Gallery of New South Wales for a special arts-based experience exploring the Pause Palliative Care Program.

This engaging session will explore how art and culture can support connection, reflection and meaningful conversations in palliative care - with patients, families, carers, healthcare professionals and volunteers.

The session begins at 10:30am. Please arrive by 10:15am for prompt start.

Delegates will be introduced to the principles of the Pause model and explore how arts-based approaches can contribute to:

• Person-centred care and wellbeing

• Compassionate communication

• Practical self-care strategies for those working in palliative care
