Pre-hosptial Rural Emergencies Workshop
Event description
Join us for this one day, jam-packed, hands on workshop managing pre-hospital rural scenarios.
This event aims to provide participants the ability to work in a resource poor environment, often as the only attendee, to ensure the safe retrieval of a patient. You will be led through a range of 'not your usual' case scenarios by experienced first responder rural generalists.
In remote and rural South Australia, a retrieval team can take time to attend the scene of an accident and they can often benefit from the inclusion of a doctor on the team. Sometimes the Doctor is the first at the scene and it's vital they are adequately skilled to manage a pre-hosptial emergency situation.
Doctors need to be trained how to manage these situations and be adequately resourced.
This workshop aims to train doctors to have the necessary skills required manage a patient in an emergency environment.
