Preparing For Launch: A Primer For The Next Chapter of Emerging Adulthood

Event description

As a parent, our job isn't done when our kids turn 18 or 19, but it does change considerably. Despite being legal adults, older teens and 20 somethings are not ready for adulthood, nor should we expect them to be. They still need our support and guidance...and money.

But things do need to change significantly. It's all about them now. As they begin this journey into adulthood, they'll screw up at times. They'll make decisions you don't agree with. They'll need to know that you're in their corner anyways.

If you're a young adult reading this, you're at the beginning stages of a very exciting time in your life. You don't need to have it all figured out. In fact, you don't need to have anything figured out. You may have a lot going on right now: hope, fear, joy, anxiety, frustration, hopelessness, stress, overwhelm. It's all valid. I think you'll find that this webinar helps you put some things in perspective and gives you some hope and optimism about your future.

The period between 18 and 30 is often referred to as Emerging Adulthood. It's the long transition towards becoming a fully functioning and well-rounded adult. Working together as a family and renegotiating expectations and relationships is really important. These are all things I'm going to talk about.

In this webinar you’ll learn:

  • How to take advantage of this time so you can become the best version of yourself.
  • Strategies that will help you feel less stressed and anxious about your future.
  • How to be a supportive parent for your child during this period.
  • Why this extended period of adolescence is actually good news.

This webinar will be recorded and sent out to you so you'll be able to use it as a resource for a limited time.
The recorded version of this webinar will be 45 minutes. The final 15 minutes will be a Q&A and discussion with those who are there. I want to hear your dilemmas and answer some of your questions. I hope you'll join me on the 22nd!
