Preparing Your Garden for the Super El Nino

Are you concerned about the impending El Nino - which is set to bring hotter and drier conditions to Brisbane? Do you want to save and harvest water in a low cost way?
This workshop will help you prepare your house, garden and soul for what is set to be a 1 in 1000 year hot summer. We don’t know exactly what it will bring - but now is the time to connect with others in your community, and do what you can to assist plants, animals and your neighbourhood to survive hot and dry conditions.
What we’ll cover:
DIY and low cost grey water use, including for rental properties and apartments
Harvesting stormwater
Low cost water storage options
Retain soil moisture with compost and mulch
Cool connected neighbourhoods
How we’ll do it:
Sharing our own experiences as gardeners
Practical tips
If time, we’ll do an excursion to a local garden to look at practical and low cost grey water, water storage and water harvesting options
