Description

Present Hands is a gentle collaboration between BronTee Meditation and Grounded By Designs, designed to learn the practice of mindfulness through the tool of clay.

Join Bron for a slow and grounding workshop where mindfulness meets clay. In this intimate session, we’ll explore the gentle art of staying present: through breath, body, and creative process.

Bron, of Brontee Meditation, will guide you through foundational mindfulness practices to help settle into the space. From there, you’ll move into a hands-on clay immersion, where you’ll be invited to create intuitively, noticing how your attention moves and softens as you shape with your hands.

No experience with meditation or clay is needed. You’ll be supported to go at your own pace, with simple practices to return to if your mind wanders. This isn’t about perfect pieces, it’s about making space for yourself, staying with the moment, and enjoying the ritual of creating something from nothing.

About the workshop

Investment: $45 per person
All materials included (please note there is no firing included, this session is about the experience)

You’ll leave with simple mindfulness tools you can return to at home, along with the quiet satisfaction of getting messy with your hands. If you’re looking for a workshop where you can make pieces to fire and finish, Coffee & Claytime runs more regularly and may be a better fit.

Perfect for

  • Anyone feeling overstimulated or disconnected

  • People seeking a tactile entry point into mindfulness

  • Those craving space to create without pressure or expectation

Held in the Grounded By Designs studio within MOA & co, Carrington.

FAQs

  • Do I need any experience with meditation or clay?

Not at all. Present Hands is designed for complete beginners in both. Bron will guide you through simple mindfulness practices at a gentle pace, and you'll be supported with the clay from start to finish. All you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to slow down.

  • What actually happens during the session?

The session begins with Bron guiding you through foundational mindfulness practices, breath and body awareness, to help you settle into the space. From there, you'll move into a hands-on clay immersion, creating intuitively while Bron gently supports your attention throughout. It's a full sensory experience that weaves mindfulness and making together.

  • Can I keep what I make?

Present Hands is about the experience of making, not the finished piece. Like our Play with Clay studio sessions, the clay is not fired or glazed. You're invited to create in the moment, without attachment to the outcome. Used clay is returned and reclaimed.

  • What happens to the clay?

Clay can be reworked again and again, it only becomes permanent once it's fired. After the session, your clay is returned, left to dry, and reclaimed for future use. If you'd love to make something to take home and keep, our Coffee & Claytime workshop includes guided hand-building and firing of one finished piece.

  • What mindfulness tools will I take home?

Bron will share simple, practical practices during the session that you can return to anytime, breathwork, body awareness techniques, and gentle ways of bringing that same quality of attention into your everyday life. No equipment or prior experience needed to use them.

  • What's included in the $45?

Everything you need, all clay, tools, and materials are provided. Just bring yourself and clothes you don't mind getting a little clayey.

  • What should I wear?

Something comfortable that you don't mind getting messy. Clay has a way of finding its own path.

  • How is this different from Coffee & Claytime?

Coffee & Claytime is a guided hand-building workshop focused on technique, where you'll learn to make a piece that is glazed, fired, and yours to keep. Present Hands uses clay as a tool for mindfulness, there's no instruction in technique, no firing, and no pressure to create anything in particular. If you're looking to make something to take home, Coffee & Claytime is the better fit. If you're looking for a reset, Present Hands is yours.

  • Is this suitable if I've never meditated before?

Yes, this was designed with exactly that person in mind. If sitting still and trying to clear your mind hasn't worked for you before, having something to do with your hands makes the practice feel far more natural and accessible.

  • Can I come back each month?

Absolutely, and we'd love that. Present Hands runs monthly, and returning each session lets you deepen your practice and build a genuine mindfulness muscle over time. Many people find the ritual of returning just as valuable as the session itself.
