Event description
Join illustrator and comic artist Marcelo Baez for this four week course learning fun character creation techniques, starting with simple and playful drawing projects. Discover the inner drawer in you with illustrator Marcelo.
Learning how to use elementary shapes and photo references for interesting creations!
Participants join together at the end to create a joint online digital mural.
This course is run over 4 sessions of 2 hours, hosted on Zoom.

Press Play is a series of creative courses designed to kickstart a playful practice, and also learn how this practice can be a vital and delightful habit of self care, for mental wellbeing.
Press Play facilitators are trained as creative prescribers, with Mental Health First Aid training and tools for self reflection in a creative workshop
ABOUT MARCELO BAEZ
As a sequential art enthusiast, it wasn’t hard to work out that Marcelo Baez would not be spending a career in brain surgery. Trained as a graphic designer, he would always have one eye on his first love comics and illustration!
Now he works as a freelance illustrator, creating work for children publications, comics, magazines, posters, trading cards and a plethora of other print and online imagery. His list of clients include international companies such as Marvel, Time Inc, Hardie Grant Egmont, Popular Mechanics US, GQ Australia, Microsoft, Men’s Health, Miami New Times, National Geographic,  Scholastic, ESPN Magazine, Rugby League Week, FHM, Dallas Observer, Time Out Singapore, Stone Arch books, Philadelphia magazine and many more.
Currently he is working on a strange greek myth graphic novel and a post-apocalyptic movie/comics crossover!
Marcelo is represented in the US by Shannon Associates New York
He regularly teaches drawing workshops and experiences for adults and children alike!
