Event description

The Chronicle of Philanthropy, which is a source of news, opinion, and advice for the nonprofit and philanthropy sector recently commissioned a survey of fundraisers in the US to ask them about their job satisfaction and how staff vacancies affect their work. The research wanted to find out how the hiring crisis is changing the fundraising workforce. The results of the study have been released and during this Tea and Buns Ruth will chat with Rasheeda Childress and Emily Haynes about the findings and implications for the sector and fundraisers themselves. We will also be exploring if the findings and insights are true for Australian fundraisers.

Please join us if you are a fundraiser, manage fundraisers or work with fundraisers.

Dr Ruth Knight from The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies will be chatting with Rasheeda Childress and Emily Haynes.

Rasheeda Childress is the senior editor for fundraising at the Chronicle of Philanthropy, where she helps guide coverage of the field. Before joining the Chronicle, she covered financial and business news about nonprofit associations at Associations Now. Childress is a longtime journalist who has written and edited a variety of publications, including the Kansas City Star, Higher Education Technology News, and Campus Crime. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Emily Haynes is a senior reporter at the Chronicle of Philanthropy, where she covers nonprofit fundraising. Before coming to the Chronicle, Emily worked at WAMU 88.5, Washington’s NPR station. There she coordinated a podcast incubator program and edited for the hyperlocal news site DCist. She was previously assistant managing editor at the Center for American Progress. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental analysis from Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif.

WHAT IS TEA AND BUNS?
