Welcome to GCASA’s Prevention and Community Education series
All training is free and online. This calendar is for Semester 1 2025. Together we can create a community free from sexual assault, harm and violence.
Below is a list of dates and topics available until June 2025.
February date
GCASA 101 + Refocus 26th, 4-5pm
- This session outlines our services and supports and provides an understanding of our Refocus service, as well as the framework we use in our therapeutic work with young people, their families and support networks, including school-based supports
GCASA 101 for Medical Practitioners 27th, 8-9am
- For medical practitioners, outlines information about GCASA services including secondary consults, group programs and after hours supports. We discuss how to receive and respond to disclosures and the referral/consent pathways for quick referral to GCASA.
March Dates
Consent & respectful relationships 17th, 10-11am
- This session is based on the education package that we deliver to young people – when consent exists and when it doesn’t. We cover being safe online, information on sexting, what to expect when you contact us, how to support a friend, and relevant services and supports. This session is aimed at parents and carers to increase their confidence in talking about these issues with the young people in their lives.
GCASA 101 20th, 6-7pm
- who we are, what we do; what is sexual assault? Understanding & responding to disclosure. This session outlines our services and supports and provides an understanding of what sexual assault is, and what to do if someone discloses sexual assault. This is an open session, and valuable for community, health, and disability sector staff.
April Dates

GCASA 101 28th, 4-5pm
- supports, understanding sexual assault & responding to disclosure
May Dates
GCASA 101 + Refocus 19th, 4-5pm
- service for young people using harmful sexual behaviour
GCASA101 for Medical Practitioners 22nd, 6-7pm
- supporting disclosure, referral & support for patients
June Dates
Consent & respectful relationships 19th, 10-11am
- for those supporting young people
GCASA 101 25th, 1-2pm
- supports, understanding SA, responding to disclosure
The content we discuss can be uncomfortable or distressing, it can be helpful to find ways to access support while attending GCASA's education sessions.
We provide information about services and supports at the conclusion of each session. Most sessions are offered regularly, tailored sessions can be arranged.
