Pricing Your Handmade Jewelry with Rachel Morris | Seattle Metals Guild Lecture Series
Event description
The Seattle Metals Guild is honored to host friends and members in a series of monthly presentations from experts in our field.
Join artist and guild member Rachel Morris for an in-person, interactive jewelry and metal arts pricing discussion. Rachel will share her experience pricing jewelry for retail through this informative group exercise open to both Members and friends of the Seattle Metals Guild.
- You: Bring 1-3 pieces of your finished jewelry or metals work and its current or intended retail price.
- We: Together, we will review pricing techniques and concepts, then collectively work to price our own items.
- Rachel: Our event leader will moderate a discussion. Together we will discuss outcomes and reasoning, plus ways to move the price point up.
This interactive session is sure to lead to some big surprises, new perspectives, and fun while sharing peer insights.
Rachel Morris is an Artist/Educator and business consultant, whose wildly varied life path has been influenced by frequent childhood moves, unusual jobs, voracious reading habits, and mentors who enthusiastically and generously shared their craft with her.
She began metalwork at the tender age of 8, starting her first business soon after – the age apropos “Uniquorn Crafts” (from “unique + unicorn!"). Rachel holds a BA in Theater Arts and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Heavily influenced by her dual-professor parentage, she’s been teaching art classes since high school.
Rachel’s current practice, under the Eclectic Nature Jewelry & Design banner, focuses on hand-fabricated jewelry that emphasizes dimension and texture, with raw and cut stones. She is energized her students’ discovery processes and achievements, as they learn new techniques and find their own voices.
