Mental Health Month: Family and Belonging in Chinese LGBTQIA+ Communities

Join us for a powerful discussion on family and belonging in the Chinese Queer community as part of Mental Health Month in October.

This event, hosted by ANTRA, Professor Quah Ee Ling (Western Sydney University) and Canada Bay Libraries, is part of a relaunch of ANTRA’s Tongxing 同行 initiative, which is their Chinese-speaking LGBTQIA+ peer support and resource navigation program.  

This is a bilingual event, hosted in both Mandarin and English with relevant translated captions displayed for accessibility.

About the event:

1:15–1:30pm – Refreshments

1:30–1:40pm – Welcome and acknowledgement

1:40–2:25pm – Presentation & Q+A by Associate Professor Quah Ee Ling on Jia 家, loneliness and Chinese LGBTQIA+ belonging

2:25–3:15pm – Introduction to ANTRA and Tongxing and Chinese-language panel, with English translated captions

3:15–3:25pm – Audience Q&A/moderated discussion

3:25–3:30pm – Tongxing referral pathway, community resources and closing
