Pride in Sport Festival: LGBTQ+ Awareness for Coaches

LGBTQ+ Awareness for Coaches is an introductory session for sporting coaches interested in learning more about the LGBTQ+ community and inclusion in sport.

This is an interactive session where questions are encouraged, and discussions are held in a respectful and safe environment.

Please turn cameras on. Questions are welcome at any time.

By the end of the session, participants will:

• Understand the role of coaches in creating safe, welcoming and high-performing teams
• Understand some of the lived experiences and unique challenges for LGBTQ+ people and the impact to sporting organisations and teams
• Understand the diversity of, and differences between sex characteristics, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation
• Learn how to leverage the skills they already have to intervene in non-inclusive situations.
