Pride Outside LGBTQIA+ Pickleball - Halloween Dress-Up Edition 🎃👻

Have you ever had the urge to dress up as a pickle? Or are you just someone who will take any excuse to dress up? Well then, you’re in for a real (trick or) treat 👻

Come join Pride Outside for an LGBTQIA+ social hit of Pickleball this Halloween on the Gold Coast 🎃🥒🏓

Dressing up strongly encouraged - a prize will be given to the best dressed! 🏆

Whether you’re a seasoned pickler, or you’re still grasping the concept, the aim is to have a laugh and a bit of fun.

Important to note, there will be no coaching and we will be jumping straight into game play. So a basic understanding is recommended. Seasoned players are asked to bring a welcoming and patient disposition 🥰

We’ve booked at Rebound Stadium in Elanora, which is undercover - so rain, hail or shine the event will go ahead.

Grab a drink, order some pizzas from the onsite cafe and make some new friends 🌈

AFTERWARDS

After the session we will head to Burleigh Town Hotel for drinks, food and socialising. Please let me know if you are coming along to this and I will book a table

HOW IT WILL WORK

A quick run down to help things run smoothly:

Please arrive 5-10 mins early - grab a paddle from the bar if you don't have your own, they are free to hire

12pm - 12:20pm - jump on any court and have a warm up hit

12:20pm - Gather at the end of the nets where I will explain how it works and give everyone a card from a deck of cards. This will determine what court you are on. A Joker or Royal card means you will be on a bye for that round. You shouldn't have to sit off more than once unless you choose to.

Please leave your card on the table before heading to the court so I can sort them out for the next round ;)

12:30pm - let the games begin! 11 minutes on, 4 minutes off to sort out the next round and hydrate.

Each round will have 6 people on a bye - if you need a rest please come and see me before the cards are handed out.

This is a good opportunity to mix and chat with other people who are off, or simply just rest - no pressure!

I may go around and take photos and a group photo towards the end. These will be posted to our Instagram page and on Facebook. However, we fully respect your right to privacy. Let me know at the start if you do not wish to be in photos and your choice will be honoured without question or judgement
