Welcome to our Parent & Carer Session: Parenting in a Digital World!
In this session for parents with primary school aged children you will learn how reframing your family’s relationship with technology can help in developing protective factors that help you be a better parent in our tech-saturated world.
In the process, you will learn how can we all deal better with the mindless scroll, and support our children to develop healthy habits and values in the use of digital technology.
We will talk about the approaches and messages we use within our workshops and share stories, approaches, strategies informed by the latest research that can help guide us to be better parents in this digital age.
Who will present?
Presenter
Daniel Donahoo is the Manager, Digital Innovation at PROJECT ROCKIT. He has spent more than two decades working with children, young people and families in government, not for profit and education organisations.
Daniel is the author of children, family, media and technology “Idolising Children” and co-author of “Adproofing Your Kids” and his writing and ideas have appeared in The Age, Herald Sun, The Australian and many other publications.
He has produced educational apps with Bell Shakespeare, created learning resources for Bluey and the ABC, and worked with teachers and schools to improve student outcomes in a wide range of projects and programs with a focus on technology, ethical behaviours and relationships.
