Event description

Join us for curator and artists talks at The Condensery from 2pm to 4pm as we launch the national tour of Primavera: Young Australian Artists, a Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and Museums & Galleries of NSW touring exhibition and Light Hearted an exhibition in The Condensery's bomb shelter which showcases the work of young photographers living in the Somerset region.

The 32nd year of Primavera: Young Australian Artists is curated by Talia Smith who considers what artists are creating to challenge society’s prescribed structures. The exhibition presents work by six early-career artists that draw on their lived experiences to disrupt the dynamics of power and deliver compelling alternatives to the status quo. Featuring work by Tiyan Baker (NSW), Christopher Bassi (QLD), Moorina Bonini (VIC), Nikki Lam (VIC), Sarah Poulgrain (QLD), and Truc Truong (SA).

Opening concurrently is Light Hearted an exhibition in The Condensery's bomb shelter which showcases the work of young photographers living in the Somerset region: Myah Butterfield, Gracie-Dawn Lewis, Petrina Lewis and Lucy Oakroot. Over term 2 2024, these young photographers have participated in The Condensery’s After School Photo Club. Light Hearted is an exhibition that showcases the photographic ideas learnt by the students, as well as the creativity and fun experienced throughout the term.

Registrations are required for catering purposes. Please RSVP below.
