Event description

Join us for a private curator walkthrough of Aoko–born away from home with curator Klaudia Ofwona Draber. Ofwona Draber is the Executive Director & Chief Curator of KODA, a social practice residency for mid-career artists. She has lived and led arts, technology and strategy projects in Europe, Africa, and the United States. In Aoko—born away from home, seven artists who are either multi-racial or have multi-racial children, explore what it means to find your tribe, especially when you are “born away from home”.

EFA OPEN STUDIOS
welcomes the public to explore 74 artist studios, along with a host of arts programming and exhibitions, all located in the EFA building in Midtown Manhattan. This event offers a rare opportunity to witness the creative process up close and engage with a vibrant community of professional artists. Our internationally recognized members, each with established studio practices and career honors, will open their doors to showcase their most recent works. Additionally, the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and EFA Project Space will be open for special events and tours, providing firsthand experiences of the transformative power of art.
