Procurement Workshop | City of Stirling | In Person and Online

Would you like to better understand how government procurement works and improve your chances of winning work with the City of Stirling and other government organisations?

In-person attendees are welcome to arrive from 4:10pm for networking, tea, coffee and light refreshments. The workshop will begin at 4:30pm. Online attendees can join from 4:25pm, ready for the 4:30pm start.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join City of Stirling staff, local business owners and presenter Pauline Tarrant either in person at the Stirling Business Centre or online.

Networking, tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available from 4:10pm, with the workshop beginning at 4:30pm.

During this practical session, you will learn:

• How government procurement and formal quotation processes work
• What assessors look for when reviewing submissions
• Common mistakes businesses make when responding to tenders, requests for proposals and formal quotes
• How to prepare stronger, more complete tender documentation
• Where to find procurement opportunities and information
• How the Stirling Supplier Development Program can support your business

You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about your business and meet members of the City’s Procurement and Economic Development teams.

This workshop is suitable for business owners and team members who:

• Want to understand how the City of Stirling purchases goods and services
• Are considering tendering or quoting for government work
• Have previously submitted tenders and want to improve their approach
• Operate within the City of Stirling and would like to explore future opportunities with the City

Business owners are welcome to register colleagues who are involved in preparing quotes, proposals or tender submissions. You are also encouraged to share this opportunity with other businesses in your network.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Pauline Tarrant

Pauline is the founder of award-winning Pauline Tarrant Consulting and the HR For Good networking and learning series. She has more than 20 years of experience in training and facilitation and has worked extensively with small businesses and the local government sector.

Her procurement experience includes supplier development, contractor management, probity, social procurement, contract design and risk management. Having also served as an elected member in local government, Pauline brings a practical understanding of procurement from both the government and business perspectives.

Pauline holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Bristol Business School and qualifications in project management, leadership development and workplace assessment. She is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
