    Event description

Sands NZ and VCA invites you to participate in our new Professionals' Series - online learning about many aspects of baby loss for anyone who interacts with or supports bereaved parents, families and whānau.

The Series is made up of different topics each month, and everything is delivered online. You will receive a link for an online platform where you can access the content (a presentation plus other videos, resources, links, articles).

We also have discussion webinars for most topics on a Thursday evening from 8:00-9:00pm. Most of the discussion webinars will be attended by bereaved parents/whānau so you will have a unique opportunity to hear their lived experience and to ask questions. We have used this format in our Student Series and we're told consistently that the discussion webinars are the most valuable part of the learning!

    The topics are:

July: Baby Loss in Aotearoa NZ; Self-Care for Professionals Working with Baby Loss; Grief and Baby Loss; and, Caring for Māori Whānau

August: Models of Care; What Should I Say and Not Say? and, Memory-Making When a Baby Dies.

September: Early Loss; Decision Making Following an Unexpected Diagnosis; Perinatal Hospice; and, Ending a Wanted Pregnancy.

October: LGBTQI+ Parents and Loss; Fathers/Partners and Loss; When a Baby Dies in NICU; and, Pregnancy and Parenting After Loss.

If you have any questions, please email Vicki Culling on vicki@vca.co.nz
