Grammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock, NY have been performing since the year 2000 at numerous Festivals, Theaters, Clubs and Art Centers averaging 150 shows a year.
They have been expanding the borders of the Americana, Roots & Blues genres with consistent shows and Professor Louies stories, keyboard playing, singing and accordion. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 17 Albums of Originals, Blues and Americana music--- and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame group The Band when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Bands last three CDs including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker Professor Louie. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have created varied shows such as Music Of The Band along with original and roots songs from their seventeen releases.
Professor Louie & The Crowmatix connection with audiences at shows helps create a family rapport. Professor Louie (keyboards-vocals-accordion) is joined onstage by band mates Miss Marie (vocals, percussion and piano) Frank Campbell (bass, vocals) guitar-slinging skills of Todd Mihan and drummer Dan Hickey. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix create a show that is constantly evolving with songs consisting of elements of Rock n Roll, Blues, Folk & Gospel Music with a dose of Jam framed in solid songwriting. New Album 2025, Crowin Around will be released on Woodstock Records.
In 2023, Woodstock Records released Professor Louie & The Crowmatix vinyl and CD: Rockin' Legacy Vol. 1 EP, which has stayed on the Relix /Jamband Charts four months and has been gaining great reviews, played on over 90 radio stations across the country and worldwide. In 2022 their all original songs release, Strike Up The Band spent ten months on the Contemporary Blues Roots Music Radio Charts, single Work It Out was # 1 on the NY State Radio charts. PL&C have released sixteen studio CD's, two vinyl LP's and three DVD's on Woodstock Records.
Professor Louie & The Crowmatix repertoire is steeped in Rock, Blues, Gospel and American Roots music. PL&C began as the studio backing band for Aaron Professor Louie's musical productions & collaborations with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, The Band.
This Grammy Nominated Woodstock, NY group have performed at the Strangecreek Music Festival, Thunder Bay, London & Windsor Festivals in Canada, The Tondor Festival, Falcon Ridge Festival, The Sellersville Theater, PA - City Winery in NYC & Boston - The House Of Blues in LA - The Sportsmen's Tavern, Buffalo, NY - The Bearsville Theater & Colony, Woodstock, NY and many more venues. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have been inducted into Blues Hall Of Fame, New York Chapter and hold a permanent place in the Canada South Blues Museum. Professor Louie is the recipient of The Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground On The Hill.
