Description

Build practical grazing management skills through 6–8 hands-on, on-farm workshops designed to improve productivity, profitability and the sustainability of your grazing enterprise.

Event details:

Join North Coast Local Land Services in the next round of PROGRAZE®, a longstanding, well-regarded course that is designed to assist cattle producers in optimising their grazing management and profitability.

The course consists of 6 to 8 on-farm workshops focusing on grazing and livestock management, with an emphasis on beef cattle. Producers from other livestock enterprises, including dairy, are also welcome.

PROGRAZE® provides practical, hands-on learning through in-paddock workshops held across the production year. Participants will develop the skills and confidence to make informed grazing management decisions that improve pasture utilisation, enhance livestock performance and support long-term farm profitability.

The course provides producers with an understanding of pasture-livestock interactions, enabling them to make tactical grazing decisions to influence pasture composition, manage weeds and meet livestock production targets, even during challenging seasonal conditions.

Location:

Based on the expression of interest registrations, the following groups have been established:

  • Casino Region (Mallanganee, Casino, Grafton, Kyogle)

  • Wauchope Region (Yarras, Comboyne, Wauchope, Rollands Plains)

Course delivery:

  • PROGRAZE® is delivered through 6 to 8 workshops, spread from September 2026 to May 2027, to capture seasonal variations. Workshops will not be run over school holiday periods.

  • The complete course costs $440 inc. GST per farming business.

  • An unlimited number of people per business can register for the course.

  • This course fee includes a hard copy manual, and many other resources and tools such as feed tests and plant ID books which are shared throughout the course.
