Project in Preaching
About This Event
Project in Preaching at Oblate School of Theology is an initiative dedicated to broadening the homiletic horizons of those engaged in the ministry of preaching and proclamation.
This October, we welcome Fr. Casey Cole, OFM, Franciscan friar, priest, author, and online evangelist, for:
Incarnational Preaching: Moving From the Written Word to the Living Word
The Word is more than a collection of stories from thousands of years ago—it is a person who continues to live and act in our world. In this session, Fr. Casey will explore how preaching can move beyond explaining the biblical text through exegesis alone to helping people encounter the God of the text in our own time.
Participants will consider how an incarnational reading of Scripture, personal storytelling, and concrete calls to action can help bridge the written Word and the lived realities of the people we serve.
This open session is especially relevant for priests and deacons, as well as lay ministers, pastoral leaders, evangelists, and anyone interested in proclaiming the Word of God in today’s world.
