Project Independence in Geelong - Discovery Sessions

Are you exploring independent living and housing options for your son or daughter with an intellectual disability?

Join us for a Project Independence Discovery Session in Geelong, hosted by David Meade, Chief Executive Officer of Leisure Networks, with Glenn Keys AO, Founder & Chair of Project Independence, as a keynote speaker.

This informative session is an opportunity for families, support people and community members to learn more about the Project Independence homeownership model and how it supports people with intellectual disability to live more independently, build equity and be part of an inclusive community.

We are hosting two sessions on Wednesday, 28 October 2026:

Afternoon Session: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Includes 30 minutes of Q&A, networking and connection time.

Evening Session: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Includes 30 minutes of Q&A, networking and connection time.

The sessions will provide an overview of how Project Independence works, its unique homeownership model and opportunities being explored for a future Geelong community. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from David Meade and Glenn Keys AO, ask questions, and connect with Project Independence representatives and other families exploring housing options.

David Meade, CEO of Leisure Networks, brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience across the health, disability and community sectors in Australia and the UK. With deep experience in inclusion, community participation and disability services, David brings a valuable local perspective to the conversation about creating more inclusive pathways to independent living.

Glenn Keys AO, Founder & Chair of Project Independence, established Project Independence to create an innovative pathway to homeownership for people with intellectual disability — one that supports independence, security, choice and genuine community connection.

Importantly, Project Independence may provide an innovative pathway for people who may not qualify for Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assistance.
