Description

One day. One organisation. One real challenge.

Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS) brings together Wellington's project community and Wellington charities and not-for-profits for a day of collaboration and problem-solving.

As a volunteer consultant, you'll be matched with a local organisation to help tackle a real project, organisational challenge or opportunity they're facing. Whether they need support shaping a new initiative, improving ways of working, overcoming a delivery roadblock, clarifying priorities or strengthening project governance, you’ll use your skills to help turn complexity into clarity, and ideas into practical next steps the organisation can take forward with confidence.

In just 8 hours, your expertise can help create meaningful impact for organisations doing important work in our communities.

NOTE: THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ONLY EVENT

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Who should register?

PMDoS is ideal for professionals who enjoy problem-solving, planning, facilitation and helping organisations turn challenges into clear next steps.

We welcome project, programme, change, business analysis, strategy, operations, technology, governance, finance, communications, engagement and organisational development professionals.

You may come from sectors such as government, construction, infrastructure, technology, health, education, finance, consulting, community development or the not-for-profit sector.

Whether you’re an experienced practitioner, emerging professional, or s student, if you enjoy asking good questions and working collaboratively, we’d love to have you involved.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Why take part?

By volunteering your expertise, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Help a local charity or not-for-profit move from challenge to clarity.

  • Apply your skills to a real organisational problem.

  • Collaborate with other project and business professionals.

  • Build meaningful connections across the Wellington project community.

  • Be part of a practical day of purpose-led impact.

  • Earn up to 8 PDUs, if you’re a PMI member ⭐️

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

What's included?

Your registration includes:

  • Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments.

  • A pre-event briefing session to help you prepare.

  • Event materials and facilitation on the day.

Your registration also helps enable participating charities and organisations to attend at no cost 🧡

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

What happens after I register?

EXTENDED - Registrations close Monday 14 September, 9:00am. Once closed, we'll begin our matching process:

  1. You'll be matched with a charity or not-for-profit based on your skills, experience and interests.

  2. You'll receive your challenge brief, giving you an opportunity to understand the organisation and the challenge before the day.

  3. Join a pre-event online briefing, where you'll meet your team, hear from your organisation and learn what to expect on the day.

  4. Event day! You'll spend the day working alongside your team and organisation to explore their challenge, develop practical solutions and leave them with clear, actionable next steps.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Heads-up - before you register!

To help us match consultants with the most suitable charities and not-for-profit organisations, we'll ask a few questions about your professional background, areas of expertise, and the types of organisations you'd be interested in supporting. The registration will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Please note: The form will time out after 60 minutes, so we recommend completing your registration in one sitting.
