Project planning and development for community organisations
Event description
Don't miss this opportunity to build your skills and set your community projects up for success.
This free capacity-building workshop is offered to not-for-profit community organisations in the Tweed Shire
to strengthen their skills in grant applications—both for Community grants | Tweed Shire Council and other funding opportunities.
About:
Every successful program or project starts with a great idea—backed by strong design and thorough planning. But turning a vision into a well-executed project takes focus, creativity, and strategy—especially when resources are limited.
This workshop will guide you through developing an idea from scratch into a clear, actionable project plan. You'll walk away with a solid foundation that outlines what you want to achieve, how you'll achieve it, and how much it will cost.
You’ll also learn how to spot and avoid common project planning pitfalls, helping you make the most of your resources. For those seeking funding, this workshop will ensure your project is well-prepared and ready to include in grant applications—giving funders confidence that you’re ready to deliver.
What's covered:
- Formulating a successful project idea
- Putting together your plan
- Defining the project and its benefit to the community
- Creating a project plan and budget
- Identifying and mitigating project risks
- Deciding if a community partner is needed
- Using project management tools
- Understanding the role and importance of project evaluations
