We acknowledge that Cafe Gummo sits on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respect to Wurundjeri Elders past, present and emerging and also acknowledge that sovereignty of these lands was never ceded.

Opening in March of 2019, Cafe Gummo was opened with the intention of filling a void in Narrm/Melbourne’s nightlife, namely an explicitly fascist-free Dive Bar. What does that mean though? We active dissuade racists, homophobes, transphobes and other bigots from attending in order to make room for the those groups tired of their bullshit. We also like to party, a lot.

We are a partially accessible venue with a removable wheelchair ramp and wheelchair accessible bathroom, including handrail, located off the rear beer garden. Some low steps exist within the venue and depending on the event, the bandroom can be quite crowded. Straws are provided on request though generally only when needed for medical reasons.
