Huntly Property Walks with Victorian Rabbit Action Network

Join Nature Network and Northern Bendigo Landcare Group for property walks with Victorian Rabbit Action Network (VRAN) mentors in Huntly. This event is part of Nature Networks' Bendigo Rabbit and Weeds Community Action Project delivering a series of educational events for the management of pests and weeds in the region. There is also a property walk session in Longlea the afternoon of 15 March focusing on the control of rabbits for rural living property environments. For Longlea walk - click here

VRAN representatives will advise on integrated management methods of rabbits and how to adapt these principles to a whole property management approach.

You will learn how to:

• Read the landscape: Identify rabbit activity and warrens

• Control techniques for urban & peri-urban situations

• Dealing with warrens under structures (e.g. sheds/ buildings)

• Rules & regulations for baiting techniques for urban areas

• Best practice control over the seasons

We will spend most of the session out in the field so please come prepared with drink bottles, hats sunscreen, appropriate clothing and footwear.

Morning tea will be provided.

We will meet at a property in Huntly. The property address and directions will be provided closer to the event date.

In the event of extreme heat or extreme/ catastrophic fire conditions the event will be postponed. We will contact you via email the week of the event if this is the case.
