Event description

Life after prostate cancer can be a challenging time for men and for their families.

Erectile dysfunction and incontinence are common side effects of prostate cancer treatment, but fortunately there are solutions, and there are treatment options available to help you overcome them.

We invite you to join us at this FREE forum as our guest speakers outline ways in which both erectile dysfunction, and incontinence can be treated allowing you to live your life after cancer.

Please note: Spaces are limited so please register to secure a seat. A light snack will be provided with tea/coffee on arrival.

Hand sanitizer and masks will be supplied at the door. Face coverings help reduce the spread of COVID-19 so please bring these with you.

Guest speakers:

Mr Andre Westenberg - Urologist, Tauranga

Andre is a consultant urologist from Tauranga and has been a visiting urologist to Taranaki since 2002.

After obtaining his FRACS in New Zealand he completed a fellowship in reconstructive genitourinary surgery at the Institute of Urology in London. Although primarily a uro-oncologist, he has a subspecialty interest in the surgical management of male urinary incontinence. He has a large experience with the range of surgical options available to treat this debilitating condition and has published a number of research articles in this field.

Outside of urology, he manages a barely viable avocado orchard and enjoys tramping and climbing.

Mr Liam Wilson - Urologist, Tauranga

Liam is a urologist based in the Bay of plenty, and has been helping out in Taranaki for 15 years. He has several subspecialty interests, including decision making in treatment of prostate cancer, paediatric urology, and treatment of erectile dysfunction.

When not working he enjoys being a terrible runner and a worse cyclist. It is always a pleasure to come to New Plymouth and work with Hazel and Jimmy and their fantastic team.
