A night to celebrate community, good music, positive vibes, our moana (oceans) and shared care and protection of them!

Featuring legendary Whanganui Reggae band  'ROOTS PROVIDER' with special guest, Wiz Tokelau, alongside Local Artists, Dr Reknaw, Moemoeā, Tihikura Hohaia & Johnny Wright.

This is part of a special, whānau/family  friendly weekend of events in Ōpunakē, coming together with shared care towards the protection of our Oceans and communities from seabed mining.

Friday 25th April:

- 6:45pm. Film Screening of 'Deep Rising' narrated by Jason Mamoa with guest speakers Phil McCabe (from KASM & international organisation, Deep Sea Conservation Coalition) & Te Aorangi Dillion (Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Tumu Whakarae) @ Everybody's Theatre.

Saturday 25th April:

- 10am to 2pm @ Ōpunakē Beach, Inclusive community activity on beach, all ages and abilities, with aerial photo, followed by Paddle Out for our Oceans, kai / music, Guest speakers and community forum.

- 3:30pm @ Everybody's Theatre  a second screening of 'Deep Rising' (2023 documentary) - with guest speaker Phil McCabe.

Then into a night of music and dancing we go!

6:30pm: doors open 

7pm: Welcome and opening
