Protect The Olive Harvest in Palestine 2026 Webinar
Description
Protect The Olive Harvest in Palestine 2026 Webinar
When: Monday 19 October, 7 pm Melbourne/Sydney time
Every year, during the olive harvest in October and November, Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank face violence and intimidation from bands of violent, extremist Israeli settlers backed by Israeli soldiers.
The violence is designed to deprive Palestinian farmers of their livelihoods, terrorise them and drive them off their land.
Olive farming is a livelihood for many Palestinian families. It’s also a connection to their land, culture and community.
Protect The Harvest is an international coalition responding to the Palestinian call for solidarity. During the 2026 harvest, activists will provide a protective presence alongside Palestinian communities, helping farmers access their land and harvest their crops safely.
Standing Together (English | standing-together) is supporting the Protect the Harvest initiative as part of its ongoing efforts to disrupt attacks on Palestinians by providing a protective presence.
Hear from those on the ground about efforts to address extremist settler and army violence directed at Palestinian farmers and those seeking to assist them, as well as a vision for a better future.
Speakers:
Arafat: Palestinian community organiser in the town of Sawiya near Nablus. He is very active in peace-building and community support.
Amir Ziv, Director of Pedagogy, Breaking the Silence: Amir grew up in Jerusalem and served in the IDF as a combat soldier and commander before becoming active with Breaking the Silence in 2013. As Director of Pedagogy, he shapes the organization’s educational content and engagement strategy, connecting testimony of soldiers to broader questions of equality, accountability and the moral costs of military rule.
Nati Hanadari: Nati Hanadari is a father and a teacher. He is an organiser in Standing Together, a member of the Solidarity Guard and part of Standing Together's national leadership. Nati believes that change in Israel-Palestine will happen only through a politics that addresses the needs and problems of all people, rather than a politics that is separate for Jews and Palestinians.
