Protecting Children through Body Safety Education
Event description
In light of recent reports of abuse in childcare settings, it’s understandable that many parents and caregivers are feeling anxious and unsure about what they can do to protect their children.
Join trusted educator, author, and advocate Jayneen Sanders in collaboration with FVREE, who leads the gender equity initiative Level Playground, for this timely and practical webinar focused on body safety skills and protective behaviours you can introduce at home - even with very young children.
This session goes beyond theory. You’ll learn how to build trust and communication with your child, teach consent and body boundaries in age-appropriate ways, and recognise the early signs of unsafe situations or grooming.
Jayneen will walk you through her 10 key body safety skills - including language to use with children, how to respond to disclosures, and creating a strong safety network around your child. There will be a Q&A at the end of the session too.
You’ll also receive practical resources and strategies to support your child’s right to feel safe, heard, and respected - at home, in care, and in the community.
