Sun, 12 Oct, 10am - 1pm AEDT

Event description

If you'd like to learn how to prune local natives, this practical workshop is for you!

Sometimes local native plants growing in gardens and on verges may need a prune. This includes plants growing somewhere they don't really fit, such as under powerlines or in a narrow space; plants with an injury; or plants grown indoors. And discretionary pruning is something many people do to create a desired look, such as neat hedging.

This workshop will be led by expert horticulturist, bush regenerator and educator Carl Glaister and Growing Illawarra Natives' Emma Rooksby. The workshop will cover best practice on pruning, different approaches to pruning for different kinds of local plants, and will include demonstrations on a few different species.
