Event description

From Ancient Ritual to Modern Medicine

The use of psychedelics is an ancient practice in various cultures aimed at bringing about transcendence, spiritual experiences and insight. Psychedelics are now going through a modern revival largely due to their purported therapeutic potential. In this seminar we will explore the uses of psychedelics with Dr Paul Liknaitzky, the head of the Monash Clinical Psychedelic Lab. Join us to explore:

  • Where is the research up to?
  • What is their therapeutic potential?
  • How do they work? and
  • Do they complement the use of other therapeutic strategies like mindfulness?

Exploring Meditation, Meaning and the Mind:

This free monthly webinar series offers a deep dive into the realm of contemplative wisdom. Every first Thursday of the month (AEST/AEDT) at lunchtime, immerse yourself in discussions with a diverse panel of thinkers, meditators, researchers, and individuals from various wisdom traditions, discussing topics like mindful parenting, burnout, morality, and the impacts of technology on attention. These sessions, guided by Professor Craig Hassed, conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving you a unique opportunity to engage with the panelists. This series is an open invitation to explore the profound impact of contemplative practices and bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and the complexities of modern living.
