Psychological Safety: What today's leaders need to know now
Event description
An introductory workshop with workplace wellbeing and high performance specialists, Jono Nicholas and Kevin Clancy, Wellbeing Outfit, in partnership with Troocoo.
The workplace of today looks radically different to that of even a year ago, and there's no turning back.
As we look to a future of more complex work environments defined by distributed working, new technologies and changing business models, the more important it is for people to feel comfortable raising issues in the workplace, challenge conventional thinking, and admit mistakes without fear of negative consequences.
In other words, a workplace environment where people feel psychologically safe.
How leaders think, feel and act plays a critical role in this, yet many are finding they need a whole new set of skills to create the culture they aspire to - one that's psychologically safe and fit for optimal success.
Drawing on research and a combined 50+ years' experience in mental health, wellbeing and high-performance psychology, Jono Nicholas and Kevin Clancy will reveal the trends they're seeing in workplaces today, and share actionable guidance to help leaders cultivate psychological safety in their own workplaces. The session will focus on:
- the characteristics of a 'wicked' working environment and what this means for leaders
- the role of the leader in shaping a workplace culture and its link to performance
- practical steps leaders can take to make their people feel safe, well and able to perform at their best
Participants are invited to submit any questions they have on the topic, and common themes will be addressed in the workshop.
We look forward to seeing you there on 22 June 2021.
