Public Consultation on Safe and Responsible AI in Healthcare
Event description
The Australian Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (AAAiH) is hosting a webinar series as part of the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) public consultation on Safe and Responsible AI.
In the 2024-25 Budget, the government provided funding to support safe and responsible AI development, including to clarify and strengthen existing legislation and regulation. With health care identified as a priority area for reform, DoHAC is reviewing laws and regulations in the Health Portfolio in coordination with the Department of Industry, Science, and Resources.
The public consultation is a key part of the review to uncover the gaps and opportunities relating to AI. Each webinar will give a briefing on the scope, context and approach to the consultation, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. All webinars will cover the same content.
You are invited to submit a written response to the public consultation paper by Monday 14 October 2024.
The webinars will run for 45 minutes with a presentation from the Program Manager for Digital Futures, Digital and Service Design Branch, DoHAC, with a Q&A session for the second half of the time allocated, hosted by AAAiH.
The webinars will be capped at 50 participants. Please register for your preferred date and a Zoom link will be forwarded to you the day prior to the date selected.
The dates will be:
- Tuesday 24 September 12-12:45pm
- Friday 27 September 11-11:45am
- Tuesday 8 October 12-12:45pm.
