Public Hearing for IPART’s review of the rate peg to include population growth
IPART is holding an online public hearing on 20 July 2021 for our review of the rate peg to include population growth.
The Minister for Local Government has asked IPART to recommend a rate peg methodology that allows the general income of councils to be varied annually to take into account population growth.
This is to support the NSW Government’s commitment to allow councils to align their rates revenue with population growth.
The review is focused on ensuring local councils can continue to provide quality services to their communities, including in those areas experiencing population growth.
