📖 Lecture Overview:
A lifelong Theosophist influenced by Madame Blavatsky, Alexandra David-Neel was the first Westerner to access Tibet’s sacred monasteries and teachings. An opera singer turned mystic, she studied Sanskrit at the Sorbonne while living in a Theosophical Lodge. She traveled thousands of miles, documenting esoteric traditions and meeting figures like the Maharaja of Sikkim, who believed they shared a past life. Her books, My Journey to Lhasa and Magic and Mystery in Tibet, introduced the West to Tibetan mysticism. Writing over 30 books, she inspired spiritual seekers, feminists, and adventurers worldwide.

👤 About the Speaker:
Walter Mason, President of Sydney’s Blavatsky Lodge, is a travel writer and author of Destination Saigon and Destination Cambodia. A sought-after speaker and teacher, he specializes in writing, mindfulness, and creativity. He lectures on film and literary figures like E. F. Benson and Noel Coward and has spoken at festivals worldwide. Walter also teaches writing and journaling across Australia.
