Event description

Distance, road conditions, weather and competing priorities for many rural patients hamper access to healthcare.

This presentation will look at the introduction of telehealth services in rural areas as a means of overcoming barriers to healthcare. Dr Gladman graduated from Flinders University. Since graduation, he worked in Tamworth and Broken Hill. In Broken Hill, he worked with the RFDS and the local hospital.

Prior to studying medicine, Dr Gladman worked in research and spent time in the Army.

He is a Senior Lecturer with Adelaide University Rural Clinic School and a committee member with the Australian Medical Council. He is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and accredited with Australian Motorsport.

He also works one week a month in the local hospital ED department. His area of interest is men’s health, mental health and procedures.

Having come to medicine later in life, Dr Gladman has an array of experience working in research, management positions and teaching Aboriginal health workers.
