Public Lecture: Rep Hsu - Taiwan's Chief Diplomat to Australia
Description
The University of Adelaide Politics and International Relations Association (PIRA) is greatly excited to announce an upcoming Public Lecture of Taiwan’s Chief Representative to Australia, Rep. Douglas Hsu.
PIRA is proud to be working with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia (TECO) to provide this unique opportunity not only to students in International Relations at our University, but the community at large.
Rep Hsu has been a key figure in Taiwanese foreign policy for over a decade, previously serving as a senior representative of Taiwan in North America, and in particular as Director General for Taiwan’s Department of North American Affairs.
Rep Hsu was critically responsible for Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s notable visit to Taiwan in 2022, and has been closely involved with the work of the Taiwanese government in navigating Taiwan’s challenging geopolitical environment.
Rep Hsu commenced his work in Australia in August 2023, and continues to engage across Australia representing Taiwan.
The Lecture will be held on Tuesday 11 June 2024, at 6:00pm at the University of Adelaide North Terrace Campus.
The expected duration of the event is 60 minutes; there will be an opportunity to ask questions of Rep Hsu following his Lecture.
We warmly invite you to attend this special event.
