Event description

Pembroke invites parents to a public presentation by The Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS).

Presentation: The Metropolitan Fire Service Road Awareness Program (RAP)

When: Monday 9 September - 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Where: Potts Theatre, Girton Campus, 18 Holden Street, Kensington Park

The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service Road Awareness Program (RAP) is a powerful road safety program for road users. It is designed to show an open and honest view of what firefighters experience daily regarding road crash rescue. RAP is presented to inspire and motivate South Australians of all ages to be responsible on our roads. RAP focuses on drivers, passengers, and pedestrians and seeks to actively engage and empower new and experienced road users regarding road safety.

RAP identifies road users' risks and the consequences they have no control over. An integral feature of RAP includes a moving presentation from road crash survivor and Pembroke parent, Yudhi Mohan-Ram. Yudhi gives a compelling presentation detailing his journey, the ups and downs and the raw, painful truth of his recovery. Yudhi received multiple permanent injuries, placing him in a coma for 46 days, and he was given a 10% chance of survival. This inspiring presentation is an eye-opener to the responsibility of all road users.

This same presentation occurs all over our state as part of the important work that is done to keep all South Australians safe on our roads.

We look forward to seeing you there!
