Public Pembroke Parent Presentation: Dr Huu Kim Le
Event description
Pembroke School warmly invites you to a special Parent Information Evening featuring a public presentation by Dr Kim Le, a respected Adelaide-based Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Dr Le has a special interest in video gaming addiction, also known as gaming disorder, and is the founder of the CGI Clinic, an online practice providing specialised assessment and treatment for young people and families dealing with the challenges of digital overuse.
In 2015, Dr Le delivered a powerful TEDx Talk titled “The Spell of Digital Immersion” at the Adelaide Town Hall, exploring the psychological pull of screens on developing minds. A decade on, with a growing national conversation, including proposed federal legislation to ban social media use for children, his insights are more timely and urgent than ever. Dr Le also appeared in the SBS documentary “Are You Addicted to Technology?”.
During this session, Dr Le will explore:
The impact of digital devices on children’s mental health
How gaming and screen use affect development, learning, and relationships
Strategies for families to manage technology in the home
We look forward to seeing you there!
