A more inclusive working environment begins with understanding ways to engage. This specialised disability equality training is for editors, publishers or for professionals working in the publishing industry who would like to: 

  • Engage more confidently with Deaf and Disabled writers
  • Learn more about stereotypes and how to avoid them
  • Create an inclusive publishing environment 
  • Explore disability representation in literature 

Funded by Create NSW, this fully subsidised professional development opportunity is tailored specifically to the publishing industry, and is presented by Varuna the National Writers’ House in partnership with the Publishability program at Writers Victoria.

The training will take place online over two sessions:

Session 1: Wednesday 12 May 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Session 2: Wednesday 19 May 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Places are limited, so please register early to ensure you don’t miss out. 

Please note, these sessions are sequential. We ask that you don’t attend Session 2 without attending Session 1.
